Great East Lake is a border lake shared by the towns of Acton, Maine and Wakefield, New Hampshire. It is the largest lake in York County, covering over 1700 acres with a maximum depth of 102’ and a mean depth of 35’ with above average water quality.
The widest part of the lake is in New Hampshire. The lake narrows to the east in Maine, creating the First, Second and Third basins.
There is a public boat launch located in Acton.
Great East is located about 2 hours of Boston and is less than an hour to North Conway.
Boating, fishing, swimming, wake boarding, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, tubing, and any other water filled activities are waiting for you to enjoy this gorgeous lake.
From the lake you can snowmobile into NH and ME. You are also close to area ATV trails.
